Not What I Expected

I started the book A Long Way Gone: Memoirs of a boy soldier and read the first chapter. It wasn't what i thought it would be. The author/narrarator just tells it how it is and doesn't try to cover up the horror of what happened or his emotions. At times I think that it was too descriptive, especially the scene in the village where he used to live. It made me sick to my stomach knowing that this really happened and that there are many similar stories. However I want to keep reading but can't until teach tells us to. Guess I'll have to wait and see what will happen next.

I've been reading this book called songs of enchantment and it's kinda weird. I know that it's african literature so it'll be different but some of it's realitstic, some of it's fantasy and some of it's symbolism. It's hard to pick out what is what though. I don't really like it. Not that it's boring or anything it's just weird and I'm not a fantasy reader at all. I'll have to stick with it for now because it's already approved and all that. We'll see how this goes.

First Blog EVER

Okay so this is my first blog and I'm supposed to tell you about me umm so here goes...

My name's is Jordan Wasserman. I have two brothers Taylor (15) and Brian (20) so I'm the baby of the family. I own two dogs, a Jack Russel Terrier named Samson who's 5 and a Boston/Rat terrier cross named Bella who's one. I love sports but especially swimming. This is my second year on the Apollo Swim team. My favorite races are the 200 Medley Relay, the 100 Backstroke and the 200 Free Relay. I'm in eighth grade and so far don't dislike any of my classes (or teachers for that matter). My favorite class so far is L.A. mostly because I get to blog during class =) Other wise i like lunch the most. I only have to write a paragraph and I'd say that I've covered that so I'm going to go and find other people to follow (on here not in life I'm not some creepy stalker or something). Bye!
